XO Group Inc. (formerly The Knot, Inc.) is looking for a top notch Lead Software Engineer, Partner Integration for our Registry Operations team to manage retail partner integrations for registry systems. Our patented bridal and baby registry aggregation software leverages cutting-edge technology to allow guests and gift givers easy access to registry and wishlists for our members. Our brands: The Knot, The Nest, WeddingChannel.com, GiftRegistry360.com and The Bump allow members to manage, share, and add items to a universal registry as well as display registries to guests.
The ideal candidate will be technically skilled, love working with clients, and have the desire to work on meaningful, large-scale software system. They will have the opportunity to interface directly with our Retail Partners, Systems Engineering, Product and Project Management, Business Analysis and Software Engineering (both onshore and offshore). This position will also act as a bridge between our clients and our Engineering teams to architect technical solutions to business problems. They will also design cutting edge retail integration applications and provide technical and engineering feedback to Product Management on new Registry products.
Responsibilities include: - Work with technical and non-technical teams to help triage and address client/production issues via email, phone and ticketing system with XO Group retail partners
- Provide bridge between partners and engineering teams on technical solutions
- Meet with new and existing Retail and Affiliate partners on data, ETL and API integrations
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for all Gift Registry products and services
- Lead and mentor a small client support team including support coordinator and data engineer
- Work with customer service to identify, triage and solve customer issues
- Develop concise and thorough technical knowledge base articles for both external and internal audiences about APIs and Integration systems
A successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in one of the following: Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 4-6 years as a software engineer or technical analyst
- 2-4 years working with external partners in a fast-paced, customer-focused, online environment
- 2 or more years as a software engineering or technical lead or manager
- Experience with Java, C#, C++, Javascript or other modern programming languages
- Experience with Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server , T-SQL, PL/SQL or other RDBMS
- Advanced technical hands-on troubleshooting skills supporting online businesses
- Expertise in web-based architecture: HTTP, Request/Response, Cookies, Redirects
- Exceptional verbal and written skills
One or more of the following are a major plus: - Experience with WebWork, Hibernate, Struts, Groovy, Grails, ASP.NET or other platform
- Experience with TFS, Subversion, Git, ClearCase, CVS or other source control systems
- Experience with Jenkins, Hudson, Team Build, Ant or other Build systems
- In-depth experience with Web Analytics systems: Google Analytics, CoreMetrics, Omniture, WebTrends or other
- Experience with one or more major ecommerce platforms
- Work related experience in consulting, 2nd or 3rd tier technical support or technical project management
