XO Group Inc. was founded in 1996 by four good friends, two of whom had barely survived planning their own wedding due to the lack of local information and real-world resources available. With firsthand experience, a unique vision, and funding from America Online, they set out to reinvent the way couples plan their weddings -- and life’s most important celebrations. XO Group's first site, The Knot, quickly became the most popular online wedding resource and a highly successful offline brand, reaching millions of brides, grooms, and gift-givers worldwide. Today, with the addition of WeddingChannel.com, The Nest and The Bump brands, XO Group is one of the nation’s leading lifestage media and services companies.
